CRITERIA TO JOIN sta's high performance development (hpd) programs

 

 

NATIONAL TRAINING SQUAD,
Kallang tennis centre (AGED 14 & ABOVE)

Open to players who are Singaporeans & Singapore Permanent Residents. Singaporeans will be given a subsidy. Players who have reached the Quarter-Finals of their respective age groups in the SPEX Junior Age Group tournaments (i.e. 14-Under, 16-Under & 18-Under) must apply to the STA in writing. Acceptance will depend on court availability after assessments conducted by a panel of STA Coaches. Exceptions for entry into the National Training Squad, Kallang for players below 14 years of age is at the National Training Squad's Head Coach's discretion.

 

NATIONAL TRAINING SQUAD,
farrer park TENNIS CENTRE
 (AGED 13 & BELOW)

Open to players who are Singaporeans & Singapore Permanent Residents. Singaporeans will be given a subsidy. Players who have reached the Quarter-Finals of their respective age groups in the SPEX Junior Age Group tournaments (i.e. 10-Under, 12-Under & 14-Under) must apply to the STA in writing. The panel of STA Coaches may make recommendations for suitable players to be promoted to the National Training Squad, Farrer Park, Acceptance will depend on available vacancies after the assessment.

 

Benefits of the HPD Program:

1)  Access to Sports Science support schemes and services depending on availability.
2)  Weekday training program (Mondays to Fridays) from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m.
3)  Further training opportunities should budget permit:
      a) Sparring with overseas visiting players
      b) Overseas competition (partially subsidized)

 

The committee reserves the right to make changes to the above policy anytime it deems fit.
