JUNIOR TENNIS PROGRAM

The STA Junior Tennis Scheme is the largest tennis development in Singapore. To date, we have more than 1,000 trainees training with us. Classes are conducted throughout the week for all levels of trainees. Our coaches are all ITF Level 1 certified and trained to teach your kids tennis!

OUR TENNIS PROGRAMS

The Singapore Tennis Association aims to give tennis to all ages and all playing levels in Singapore. We have programs designed for kids, tennis enthusiasts, adults,and elite players. 

Junior Tennis Initiative by ITF

This program teaches the fundamentals movments of tennis. People of all ages will love this as therea re many games and ecercises we have planned for them! Classes are conducted for a group of 6 players. 

 

1) RISING STARS
The RISING STARS program is designed for kids under 13.
Practice, Play, Pressure. Repeat.

2) SPEX Junior Tennis Scheme

The Sports Excellence, aka SPEX Training program is for kids aged 6 - 18 years.
Group lessons are conducted over a period of 2 hours where kids can learn with their fellow peers and play tennis related games together! Classes are conducted for a group of 8 players.

3) National Training Squad (ELITE Program)
The Elite Program is made for serious tennis kids who want to play in national tournaments for Singapore. Needless to say, these kids would have to be assessed before coming into the program.

Terms & Conditions

1) Training fees are collected on a Quarterly basis (Jan / Apr / Jul / Oct). For new trainees, fees will pro-rated for the first incomplete quarter only. Please make payment one (1) week before the new quarter starts.

2) Withdrawal of trainees from the SPEX JUNIOR TENNIS SCHEME is STRICTLY on a Quarterly Basis (Jan / Apr / Jul / Oct).

3) A refundable deposit of ONE (1) MONTH’S fee must be paid upon enrolment.

4) Withdrawal Notice should be in writing (email acceptable to info@singtennis.org.sg) to be received fourteen (14) days before commencement of the following quarter, failing which the ONE (1) MONTH’S deposit will be forfeited. The refundable deposit of ONE (1) MONTH will be refunded through Internet Banking if the withdrawal condition is fulfilled.

5) There will be NO refund of fees for withdrawal or absenteeism of trainees BEFORE the end of the quarter.

6) The Singapore Tennis Association (STA) reserves the right to allocate a trainee to a suitable class according to the skill level of the trainee.

7) All trainees who wish to enroll for the Intermediate and Advanced Level must first be assessed by a SPEX Coach.

8) In the event of inclement weather, the STA reserves the right to make alternative arrangements for wet-weather tennis training programs where permitted by the respective venue’s facilities. There will be NO make-up classes or refund of fees for any ‘rained-out’ lessons or absenteeism.

9) No rebates will be provided for classes that falls on a Public Holiday.

10) Rebate of training fees due to travel will only be provided to trainees who prior to travel provide documentary proof that they will be away from Singapore for more than 30 days. Otherwise, request will be rejected.

 

SINGAPORE TENNIS ASSOCIATION SAFE SPORT STATEMENT

The Singapore Tennis Association (“STA”) is committed to providing a safe, diverse, and equitable environment to all members of the tennis community in Singapore. This ensures that everyone, at all levels of the sport, continues to have a positive experience in tennis. This Statement sets out the STA’s standards and expectations of everyone involved in its activities.

The STA does not condone and takes a zero tolerance approach to any form of violence, aggression, abuse, misconduct, harassment (occurring in combination or isolation) including (without limitation) the following, whether deliberate, unintentional, unsolicited or coercive:
• Sexual misconduct (e.g. sexual communication, harassment)
• Psychological and physical misconduct (e.g. bullying, hazing)
• Other inappropriate conduct (e.g. wilful tolerance, grooming)
• Misconduct relating to the Safe Sport Unified Code (e.g. false reporting, retaliation, abuse of process)
• Unwanted, unwelcome or offensive conduct of any nature relating to age, gender, sexual orientation, status, race, colour, ethnicity, disability, attributes, religion or athletic ability
• Verbal abuse
• Physical abuse
• Negative or malicious comments
• Offensive gestures
• Intimidation
• Discrimination
• Stalking
• Retaliation

Our zero tolerance stance applies to the STA and all in the tennis community (each, a “Participant”), including without limitation administrators, employees, coaches, officials, volunteers, athletes, trainees and/or their parents, and is irrespective of whether such inappropriate behaviour occurs in the sporting environment (e.g. training) or outside the sporting environment (and online) between participants in sport.

Our approach is consistent with Sport SG’s Safe Sport Programme to tackle misconduct in the athletic environment. Click here to find out more about Safe Sport. In addition, aspects of behaviour identified above are addressed in legislation including the Penal Code, Maintenance of Religious Harmony Act and soon-to-be enacted Maintenance of Racial Harmony Act.

Each Participant has the responsibility to be familiar with this Statement and, by virtue of being a Participant, has expressly agreed to and be bound by this Statement, including its applicable policies and procedures. In the event that the STA determines in its sole discretion that any Participant has breached this Statement, the STA shall take disciplinary action against the Participant as it deems appropriate (including without limitation employment termination, expulsion from the STA program, warning, reprimand, public apology, imposing a financial penalty or a combination of one or more measures). The STA’s decision will be final and binding on the Participant. 

This Statement may be revised or supplemented by the STA as necessary. Each Participant is required to apprise himself/herself of the latest version.
